"Hey Katherine, are you hungry?"
"Yes. But Mom," she looked up at me with serious eyes, "I'm not Katherine. I'm a mermaid."
"Oh, sorry." I started again. "Okay, mermaid, what would you like for dinner?"
"Sizzle fry," she said, without a hint of hesitation. "On a rock. With clams and seaweed."
"Sizzle fry?"
"Yes. With clams and seaweed. That's my favorite."
"Okay. Well, it sounds good. How do you make it?"
"With sea salt, of course. Check the recipe!"

sizzle fry sounds better than what my mother would tell me we were having for dinner growing up. She would always tease me that we were going to have Alpo over rice. Yuck!
ReplyDeletesizzle fry with sea salt coming right up! Her imagination is killer. Give her a side of malt vinegar to go with the fry. Yum. ;)
