Priorities

"Hey Mom, when will I make my First Communion?"

"Soon! This year. Has your religion teacher said anything about it?"

"She had us raise our hands if we were Catholic. She said she's making a list."

"That's exciting! Did you raise your hand?"

"Yeah, but Mom, I mean, I guess -- I just wanted to know -- will I get to have the bread and the wine at communion? Or just the bread? You don't have to take both, you know?"

"Well, it's up to you, but I think you should probably take both -- at least your first time."

"Seriously? So you're saying I can have the wine?"

"Yes, I'm saying you can have the wine."

"Wow! Mom, that's awesome."

    1. No doubt. Between the dress and the wine, it's going to be a really big day! :-)

    2. My youngest daughter will be having her communion next year. I haven't heard the question about the bread & wine yet. Katherine is so adorable! Hope you are all enjoying the new year! xo

  2. Such sophistication! Our kids were delighted with the bread and grape juice. But wine? That's over the top. ;)
