Fashion

"We'll need to carry our umbrellas today because we don't want to get our clothes drenched, right Katherine?"

"Right. I have free dress day and you're wearing your nicest uniform. We definitely don't want to get drenched!"

"And Mommy will need an umbrella, too, right? Because she's wearing her special clothes."

"Well, actually -- and I'm not saying this to hurt your feelings, Mom -- I don't think there's anything special about what Mom's wearing."

(Ouch.)

  1. I had to chuckle because I am sure that is what my daughter thinks about my clothes.

    1. It made me laugh too, but she was definitely right. There wasn't anything special about what I was wearing. I think I'm okay with that though, you know?

  2. Children are brutal! Hope you had a great Christmas with Chris! Is he going to be home for a while or has he left again?

    1. He's home! And he just started a shore tour in the USA, so he shouldn't have to leave again any time soon. :-)

  7. Any excuse is a good excuse to go shopping for a winter wardrobe, even if the comment is unwarranted and funny. Ha! ... The other day Dom told me that my skin stinks. I don't think he approved of my perfume. ;)

  8. Grandma Judy used to tease me about starting my sentences to her with, "I don't want to hurt your feelings, but..."

    1. These days, that's pretty much what Katherine says anytime she wants my attention. It used to be "Hey, Mom!" Now it's almost always "I don't want to hurt your feelings, but..." You two are cut from the same cloth!
