"And Mommy will need an umbrella, too, right? Because she's wearing her special clothes."
"Well, actually -- and I'm not saying this to hurt your feelings, Mom -- I don't think there's anything special about what Mom's wearing."
(Ouch.)

I had to chuckle because I am sure that is what my daughter thinks about my clothes.

DeleteGrandma Judy used to tease me about starting my sentences to her with, "I don't want to hurt your feelings, but..."
ReplyDeleteThese days, that's pretty much what Katherine says anytime she wants my attention. It used to be "Hey, Mom!" Now it's almost always "I don't want to hurt your feelings, but..." You two are cut from the same cloth!
